FOUNDATIONS TO GROW ON
Our Philosophy
Our programs are guided by a strong image of the child as capable,
curious, and full of potential.
LEADERS IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION
Our work is grounded in three guiding values:
Relationships
Learning emerges through genuine connections. Educators build trusting, responsive relationships that support children’s sense of security, belonging, and engagement with the world around them.
Exploration
Hands-on experiences and self-guided exploration nurture curiosity, wonder, and inquiry. Through play and investigation, children develop the foundations that support both future academic learning and a lasting love of discovery.
Intentionality
Educators work with intention, making thoughtful pedagogical decisions that reflect our image of the child and our professional ethics. Through observation and reflection, we create meaningful experiences that support each child’s development and provokes critical thinking.
CREATING EXCELLENCE IN THE CLASSROOM
Informed by the science of learning.
At Pebbles and Piaget, our philosophy is grounded in the understanding that children are capable, curious thinkers who actively construct knowledge through relationships, exploration, and meaningful engagement with their environment. Guided by the BC Early Learning Framework and informed by the science of learning, educators thoughtfully observe and reflect on children’s ideas and theories, responding with environments, materials, and provocations that invite deeper thinking and provoke inquiry. Through this responsive approach, children are supported to investigate their interests, develop problem-solving and reasoning skills, and build a strong sense of identity and belonging within a respectful learning community
GROWING THE FUTURE
Fueling leadership & innovation.
Discovery lies at the heart of growth and early childhood education. Our well-rounded programs combine elements of Reggio Emilia, Montessori, Multiple Intelligences, and more, encouraging students to think outside the box, develop original ideas, and approach challenges and lessons with a fresh perspective. This approach, combined with a solid academic foundation, helps our student to realize their individual potential, paving the way to act as entrepreneurs and changemakers in a rapidly evolving world.
THE VALUE OF GIVING BACK
Leading our students by example
As educators, one of our key responsibilities is to model empathy and compassion. Each year, we give
back through community initiatives that inspire students to participate in meaningful causes. By
engaging students in discussions about social challenges and involving them in projects that support the
broader community, we help nurture caring behaviours in the leaders of tomorrow.
